LibGuides Help & boxes for reuse: LibCal

Set Availability in LibCal

Adding consultation bookings using MyScheduler

You can use  MyScheduler add research consultations requested via email, phone or chat into LibCal for tracking purposes.  Say for instance, a faculty member or student emails you asking if you’re free to meet next Wednesday at 1pm for a consultation…  No need to put it in your outlook calendar!  You can both put it on your outlook calendar and in LibCal for tracking purposes using LibCal MyScheduler.

First Log into LibCal and select MyScheduler from the toolbar

You can check your availability by scrolling through the calendar to the date requested

A green slot means, I’m free next wednesday at 1pm, so I can scroll to the day I want using the arrow on either side of the date listed in the white space on the right.  Then schedule the meeting by clicking on “Add New Booking.”

Select the time slot you want to book, then fill out the rest of the form.  Once you click “Add Booking” the meeting will be added to your outlook Calendar as well.

Note: If you put the meeting in your outlook calendar first, then the meeting time won’t be available to book using MyScheduler.

Zoom/LibCal Integration

When to use it:

Use the Onsite Event Location with Online/Zoom as the room when you are scheduling library instruction sessions for classes where professors create the zoom link OR where you don’t want to require registration.  If you create the zoom link, you’ll need to do so using Zoom “Schedule a Meeting” and then add the link to the details or to the reminder email template (preferred) or to the details of the event (less preferred since it will be public and leave you open to zoom bombing).

Use the Online Event via Zoom for events, workshops or instruction sessions where you create the zoom link (adding your email here will auto-generate a unique zoom meeting link for you).  This only works if you require registration.
