New Public Access Policies

Many federal funding agencies are creating new Public Access Policies in response to the OSTP Memo released in August 2022 on "Ensuring Free, Immediate, and Equitable Access to Federally Funded Research." Colloquially, this is referred to as the Nelson Memo. A good resource to use to learn the most recent news on all agencies is the Public Access Plans & Guidance created by Science.gov.

  • Public Access at NEH - The NEH has released their Public Access Plan and is currently in the implementation phase. They will go live October 1, 2025.
