  • 1977-1984, holds various posts at Harvard, CalTech, and MIT
  • 1984-present, faculty at University of Maryland, College Park
  • 2001, becomes director of the Center for String and Particle Theory
  • 2006-present, serves on LIGO director’s physics advising committee
  • 2011, awarded the National Medal of Science

Research interests include Supersymmetry and Science Education Policy
