The Data Bloom Workshops are beginner-friendly and open to everyone. Feel free to register for as many as you like!

This workshop series is hosted by the Data Services Team, who are happy to answer any questions you have. We also are available to do private trainings for your groups, departments, and classes. Data Bloom: Accessible and Appealing Visualizations

Description: Want to make your visualizations more appealing and accessible? This workshop will share tips for choosing the correct chart type to creating compelling graphs that accurately and accessibly share your story, and will include a mini demo on how to make graphs accessible in Excel.
Data Bloom: Git Good with Data - GitHub for Version Control

Description: Want to use Python to visualize your dataset? In this workshop, we will use libraries such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, and more to create meaningful plots. Learn how to tweak various elements to effectively share your story and make your viz interactive. No prior programming experience is required.
Data Bloom: Cleaning, Spreadsheet Design, and Simple Functions in Excel

Description: Excel is one of the world’s most practical tools. However, many people feel unaware of the different tasks one can perform in Excel. Join our workshop on cleaning, spreadsheet design, and simple functions to learn a wide array of Excel skills. Requested by the UR community, this updated version of previous Excel workshops will allow one to learn beginner-level skills live alongside the instructor.
Data Bloom: Creating Accessible PivotTables, PivotCharts, and Dashboards in Excel

Data Bloom: Build Your Personal Website with Quarto

In this workshop, learn how to create a personal website to showcase your skills and works.

Description: Join the UR Libraries for an exciting workshop on creating visualizations using R in RStudio (a free, open-source tool). Starting from basics and going up to intermediate-level skills, participants will learn how to create visualizations using both default R and ggplot2, explore programming in R Script and R Markdown, and get tips for ensuring your visualizations are accessible.
