NOTICE:
Effective 8/25/2025, OSF has suspended submissions to their generalist server hosted by OSF Preprints. This does not affect the other community-run preprint services hosted by OSF Preprints. This suspension will allow OSF to review how the service is being used and moderated, and the impact it's having for advancing open scholarship.
This is only a suspension for new submissions. OSF will continue hosting all existing preprints on the generalist server. Authors who need to revise their preprints will still be able to do so.
To help, here is a list of alternative preprint services on OSF and hosted on other platforms. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact OSF's support team at support@cos.io.

A preprint is the manuscript copy of an article that is sent to publishers for consideration and peer review. Preprints are generally shared through specialized preprint servers like OSF Preprints. For more information on what are preprints please see OSF General Preprint Introduction. Have a more specific question? Find more information in OSF Preprint FAQs
