Typeface are a set of letters with the same basic design. Font describes the particular weight and sizes available within a typeface (bold size 8, italic size 12, etc...). The distinction between the two has gotten muddled with the rise of desktop publishing (think: no little blocks to set in place on a printing press anymore).
