Data Bloom: Special Collections Prize

Data Bloom is a series of data visualization workshops which conclude with a contest.

Special Collections Prize

Are you interested in creating a fresh dataset from historical materials, making visualizations from the dataset, and then winning a prize for your work?  The Rare Books and Special Collections department is offering access to their materials as subjects for the Data Bloom contest!  Please contact Erin Fisher for information on how to work with these collections.

One collection has already been compiled as a dataset:

These collections need to be compiled:

  • Monroe County Settler Data
  • Kodak Sales Data
  • Kodak Employee Data
  • Kodak Contest Book
  • Kodak Financial Review
  • Nursery Plate Book
  • AIDS Education Posters
  • Middle English Texts Series

The Data Bloom Data Visualization Contest is offering a $100 prize to the best submission that uses material from Special Collections.
