Administrative Information for River Campus Libraries

Creating New Accounts
  1. Admin → Accounts → Create a New Account
  2. For regular users, complete the following fields (all other fields should remain at default settings):
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Activate LibChat
      • Active – Any staff members in Learning Initiatives, Patron Services, or Research Initiatives
      • Inactive – All other users
    • LibChat Departments (if LibChat is set to "Active")
      • Other / Not sure
      • River Campus Libraries
    • Queue Access
      • Liaison Liberians – Any staff members in Learning Initiatives or Research Initiatives (Regular access only)
      • Patron Services – Any staff members in Patron Services (Regular access only)
  3. For admin users, complete the following fields (all other fields should remain at default settings):
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • User Level - Admin
    • Activate LibChat
      • Active – Any staff members in Learning Initiatives, Patron Services, or Research Initiatives
      • Inactive – All other users
    • LibChat Departments (if LibChat is set to "Active")
      • Other / Not sure
      • River Campus Libraries
  4. Click "Create Account"
  5. Find the user in the Accounts list and click the icon to edit the account
  6. For all users, update the following fields:
    • Scheduler Link Text: Click here to schedule a consultation
    • Personal Scheduler URL: Suggestions → LibCal (Liaison Librarians only)
    • System Scheduler URL: https://libguides.lib.rochester.edu/appointments

Adding Existing Users to LibChat Departments
  1. Admin → LibChat Setup
  2. Click the   icon and select the user's name from the "Users Assigned to Department" dropdown
  3. Click "Save"
