Provides information to UR-affiliated authors on open access publishing options at the university.

American Chemical Society (ACS)

  • Publisher website: https://pubs.acs.org/
  • Journals: All ACS journals except ACS Central Science.
  • Criteria for participation: UR-affiliated corresponding author.
  • Description: University-wide agreement, with limited "tokens" to pay APCs for OA articles (117 OA tokens - 3 years). Authors can choose from two types of licenses: CC-BY (default) and CC-BY-NC-ND (by request) when signing the Journal Publishing Agreement.
  • Guidance for authors: How to Publish Open Access Under a Read + Publish Agreement

    • As a corresponding author eligible for sponsored open access under a Read + Publish Agreement, during submission, you need to:

      • Use an affiliated university email extension address and select its institution from the drop-down box.
      • Confirm that the institutional affiliation stated in the body of the manuscript is the corresponding author’s affiliation.

    • Once your article is accepted you will need to go through the Journal Publish Agreement process to publish open access under a Read + Publish Agreement. Please watch the Journal Publishing Agreement demo videos to find out more information on the process.
