  • Guidance for authors: PLOS workflow follows two different pathways depending on the journal you have selected to submit your article. Independently of the pathway, there are no fees for authors, the agreement with the library covers all PLOS journals.

      • When in the Editorial Manager submission system for the journals above:
        1. Login as an author.
        2. Indicate what kind of manuscript you’re submitting. Progress-bar navigation will appear that allows you to jump to any part of the submission process.
        3. Jump to “Additional Information” in the navigation bar
        4. Scroll to “Publication Fees” 
        5. Answer with 2nd Radio Button: "My institution will full or partially pay..."
        6. Select institution name from the drop-down menu: University of Rochester

      • PLOS CAP Med, Bio, S&T Author Guide
      • When in the Editorial Manager submission system for the journals above:
        1. Login as an author.
        2. Complete your submission.
        3. You will see a “Fee Quote” page summarizing what the library will pay if accepted.
        4. At the time of acceptance, the author will be prompted via the RightsLink platform to complete their acceptance.
        5. The library will receive an “APC support” request to approve.
        6. You will receive an email confirming the library approval.
